Forewarning and Improvement

Ἐτοίμασεν ἐν κρίσει τὸν θρόνον αὐτοῦ, καὶ αὐτὸς κρινεῖ τὴν οἰκουμένην ἐν διακαιοσύνῃ· κρινεῖ λαοὺς εν εὐθύτητι. Προτρέπει τὰ προκείμενα ἀναχωρῆσαι μὲν κακίας καὶ δυσσεβείας, προσελθεῖν δὲ ἀρετῇ καὶ εὐσεβείᾳ. Τίς γὰρ νοῦν ἔχων, πιστεύσας τοῖς οὕτως εἰρημένοις, οὐ φοβηθήσεται μὴ ὑποπέσῃ τῷ κρίνοντι ἐν δυκαιοσύνῃ καὶ εὐθύττι, διὰ πράξεις ψεκτὰς καὶ φρόνημα ἀσεβές; Οὕτω γὰρ κρίνοντος αὐτοῦ, ἀναπόδραστον τὸ κρῖμα ἔσται. He has prepared His throne for judgement, and He shall judge the orb of the earth fairly, He shall judge the people rightly. 1 He gives warning of these things so that we might turn from wickedness and impiety and seek the virtues. For he who is reasonable, if he believes in these things, shall he not fear that he might fall into a just and righteous hand for judgement of his vile deeds and wicked thoughts?
