The Word of Wisdom

Οὐ γὰρ ὑποκλοπον φορεῖ βροτοῖσι φωνάεντα λόγον· ἔσται λόγος σοφία, ὥς φησι Βακχυλίδης. Τὰ δὲ ἄμεμπτα καὶ ἀκέραια καὶ ἄμωμα τοῦ Θεοῦ, κατὰ τὸν Παῦλον, τέκνα, μέσον γενεᾶς σκολιᾶς καὶ διεστραμμένης, φωστήρων δίκην, ἐν κόσμῳ φαίνεσθαι. Κλήμης ὁ Ἀλεξανδρεύς, Ὁ Παιδαγωγός, Λογὸς Τρίτος, Κεφ. ΙΒ'

'For it is not the stealthy bringer of a spoken word to men who shall be the Word of Wisdom,' as Bacchylides says, but the blameless, the pure, and faultless of God, according to Paul, children 'In the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, shining as lights in the world.' 1 Clement of Alexandria, from The Instructor, Book 3, Chap 12 1 Phil 2.15
