Αὐτὸς μὲν ἐφύβριστον ἡγῇ πᾶσαν χειρόκμητον ἐργασίαν, βιωφελῆ τε ὑπάρχουσαν καὶ πρὸς τὸ ζῇν χρησιμεύουσαν. Ὁ Μιτυλήναῖος δὲ Πιττακὸς, καίτοι βασιλεύς ὠν, τὸν μύλωνα ηὐτούργει, καὶ ἐνεργῶς γυμναζόμενος, καὶ τὴν τροφὴν ἐργαζόμενος.
