The Pearl Of Great Price

Ὁ τὸν πολυτίμητον μαργαρίτην ζητήσας, καὶ πάντων αὐτῷ τῶν προσόντων ἀντισταθμίσας, ὁ νέος ἐστὶ τοῦ Κυρίου λαὸς, τῆς πατρῴας καὶ ούσίας καὶ θρησκείας καταφρονῶν, καὶ τὸν Κύριον τῆς δόξης ζητῶν. Μαργαρίτης δὲ κέκληται, ἐπειδὴ τῷ βυθῷ τῆς θεότητος ἥνωται, καὶ μόνοις τοῖς ἀλιεῦσι καὶ τοῖς αὐτοῦ ὑποφήταις ἐγνώρισται. He who has sought the pearl of great price, 1 selling all he has, is the new people of the Lord, disdaining fatherland, possessions and religion, and seeking the Lord of glory. It is called the pearl because it is found in the depths of the Divine, and only with the fishermen and with their counsel is it known.
