Rooted and founded in love, so that you may be able to grasp with all the saints what is the breadth and length and depth and height, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that we may be filled with all the fullness of God. 1 When we have been rooted and founded in love and know with the full confidence of our mind that Christ dwells in our inner man, then with the other saints we shall begin to stretch ourselves out 2 to those things which follow, so that, with eager soul, 'we may grasp what is the breadth and length and depth and height,' and not only this, but that even we desire 'to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge' so that after all these things are fulfilled in us in their order and reason, then in everything 'we may be filled with God'.
