The Ascitae are named from the wineskin, for the Greek 'askos'  is wineskin in Latin, which inflated and closed they dance around like bacchants, since they are the evangelical new wineskins full with new wine. Saint Augustine of Hippo, On Heresies, To Quodvultdeus.
